Griffith Park Observatory.

So.. we visited the Observatory yesterday (the rainiest day of the week). Even though the telescopes were not open (the Solar telescope), it was a very educational trip! The boys are totally into "Outer Space", many thanks to George Lucas, no doubt! Canyon declared a few days ago, "Mom, Venus is my favorite planet!" I said, "Oh yeah? What's so great about it?" He quickly quipped, "It's really hot there- you'll have to wear a tank top." I LOVE (and forget sometimes) that their minds are clean slates- they see things so innocently. It's refreshing, actually. My kids may be a little naive, but I prefer it that way. This world allows children to see and hear things that their little minds just ARE NOT ready to see and hear. If I can shelter them just a little, I'm okay with that. I think our children need a little less information (until the right time, don't get me wrong).

A view of the city on a cloudy day. The view is amazing- in fact they were filming something (but they wouldn't tell me what).
