Annual Harvest Party

This is a little late, I know, but I didn't want to skip it because it's such a fun tradition. I've never been a huge fan of Halloween- my kids are a little on the "scaredycat" side (and I'm okay with that). Ever since Canyon was traumatized by a boy in a "Scream" mask, we just decided Halloween was not for us. So with that in mind, Heather Worsley & I decided that we should get our kids together for some fun activities (that involve getting candy, and eating candy and dressing up- all Halloweeny type things). So every year we share a meal together (Heather's Delicious Ham Chowder), Heather makes a craft with the kids, we have a treasure hunt for candy, we take pictures of the kids in their costumes and we just have FUN together. Our kids LOVE it & look forward to it every year. This year, Christine brought cookies and icing and candy for the kids to decorate their own cookies. She also brought an awesome story that she read to the kids & we ended our evening watching The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown. It was so much fun- if you ever want to try something different for Halloween, I totally recommend this. We've been doing it for so long, I don't think my kids even know what "trick-or-treating is!
