enjoying the process » loving the journey, not just the destination

remember

Yesterday as we were working on our lessons (home school), I said to Canyon (who sometimes doodles when he's supposed to be working or gets lost in his own little daydream about Star Wars and rocket ships and sometimes forgets to do a problem or two .. or a page or two…) "Son, you forgot to do this entire page! What's the deal, dude?"(I said this in a loving, "what's up?" kinda way). He said in a VERY sincere tone, "mom, I think I have a bad brain."  🙂

I, of course, went on to tell him that his brain is, in fact, "good" and that God has blessed him with a very smart brain- he just needs to focus and try a little harder at "paying attention."

It reminded me of a time, not so long ago, when Canyon was struggling to remember to flush the toilet. I said, "Canyon, you have to remember to flush!"
He said, "I am remembering, but I keep forgetting!"  I sure do love that boy.
