10 year Honeymoon.

James & I were able to sneak away (and when I say “sneak” I mean scream and yell and jump for joy and giggle like little school children) for a little while this past week. It was our 10 year anniversary, but I kept calling it our honeymoon by mistake. Either way… it was nice to be alone.  With 5 small kids in the house, this was a much needed break. I only wish we could have had longer. I really like him. Of course I love him- that’s easy. But I really really like him a lot. He is so nice- all the time.  I can honestly say I would do it all over again and I wouldn’t change one thing.  I’m not sure he could say the same…. but thankfully he doesn’t get a choice. He’s stuck with me 🙂

**The kids came along with Pake & Beppe for the first few days (Newport Beach)** Thank you Pake & Beppe for taking such great care of our little ones and for knowing how important it is for parents of young children to get away alone every once in a while 🙂  We really appreciate you!!

The first morning alone we went to our favorite little breakfast spot on the beach: The Beachcomber. Yummy beignets.  You just want to order 2 more plates-mmmm….
We read our books on the beach, looked at the tide pools, swam in the amazing pool with no children to keep an eye on, we ate A LOT and had some AMAZING food. Newport has some of the best restaurants around. We even hung out in Los Angeles one day.  Found the 500 days of summer bench. Kinda cheesy, I know… but I really like that movie 🙂

Have I ever mentioned how much I LOVE LA?  I’m planning some fun adventures for the coming year … anyone want to join me??

Sara - Fun. That’s all there is to it. I’m pretty sure I could have eaten 10 plate fulls of that breakfast, whatever it is and I, too liked that movie. So glad you could get away. You make LA look nice. 🙂

September 9, 2010 - 10:38 am

emily - Yes. Free childcare. Your husband said he’ll take care of the kids.

jenny - Well, since Cari’s husband is taking care of all the kids, I’m definitely in. I was totally on the fence before, but I can’t turn down that kind of an offer.
