Being Thankful…

Last night at Bible Study we went around the room and mentioned all the things we are thankful for.. not superficial things like iced coffees and new lenses (which I am VERY thankful for, by the way), but things like the JOY of our salvation, the TRUTH being taught from our very own pulpit, technology that allows us to listen to the TRUTH of God’s Word wherever we go- in the car, on our computers, on our ipod as we walk through the grocery store- so that our minds may be transformed! It was such a great time of giving thanks to God for all things.

Well, I am also thankful for my children- I mentioned last night that I am VERY thankful that I am able to stay at home with my kids. I would be so sad to miss out on any of the cute little things they say and do throughout the day.

Kennedycat

Yesterday, Canyon & Kennedy were playing in his bedroom together and I gave them one rule: NO Tattling!  So about 20 minutes later, Canyon comes out of his room and says, "Mom, I have a joke for you.  ….. Why is the person jumping on the bed?"  Holding back a smile, I said, "I don’t know, Canyon, why is the person jumping on the bed?"  To which he replied, "Becuase the other person told her not to and she didn’t listen."  🙂 THat’s probably the funniest thing I’ve ever ever heard him say!  I LOVE being a mommy !!!

Kennedy is 3 years old!

So my little girl is 3.  She’ll be 3 years & 4 months when our new little boy arrives- the longest gap between my kids so far. We didn’t do much on her birthday- I took the kids to Panera Bread (we LOVE Panera Bread) for lunch and then to Target to get Kennedy some new shoes. We had a simple dinner at home & cupcakes for dessert. Kennedy got a new big girl bike (which she cannot pedal) and few other little things.  A simple and fun day 🙂

We are going on a date tonight! Will post more pictures soon!

November is in Full Swing

Well, it’s Monday November 12th- just 3 days from Kennedy’s 3rd birthday. I don’t know how the days can possibly go any faster than they are right now. Except when it comes to my pregnancy- I’ve been pregnant for 16 months it seems (really only 20 weeks).  We are having a BOY, by the way. In case you hadn’t heard.

Well… onto the news.  Halloween fell on a Wednesday night this year which is the same night our church has AWANA.  James took the kids to AWANA and "trunk-or-treat" at our church while I stayed home and worked in the office (my Wed. night routine). Well, we’re not big "Halloween fans" so every year we get together with some of our friends and have a little Halloween Party for the kids. We share a meal together, make a craft with the kids and have a treasure hunt to find the candy. The kids LOVE it and it’s so much fun to get together with our friends. I think next year I’ll buy the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown movie and that will become a new tradition.

Img_2714We went to the UCLA football game on Saturday. It was a BLAST!  Cade was SO into the game- he just LOvES sports and any team that daddy loves is his favorite, too!  Canyon and Kennedy were a little squirmy, but we brought LOTS of snacks to keep them occupied. It was a great game, but unfortunately UCLA lost. We definitely will go again- anyone want to join us?

Img_2723 The Cutest UCLA fan ever!

OH! In other news, Cade lost his VERY FIRST TOOTH on Saturday! Right before we left for the UCLA game, I gave it a little tug and out it came. He was pretty excited. I’ll post more photos of that later.
